The Sacrifice

Any sacrifice, no matter how large or small, is still a sacrifice. A sacrifice is not one undertaken for a motto. Nobody can or will be willing to make an unconditional sacrifice since it is a true sacrifice. Only some people were capable of making these sacrifices. Such a sacrifice helps a person develop a positive mindset and seek inner peace,  the previously unseen sense of deep tranquilly.

True love and mercy allow a person to give up something for another person or for a relationship. This post describes one such incident. A poor man who was in poverty lived by the side of the road and collected alms. In his entire life, he never carried a cent. He always goes to bed with an empty pocket. Before going to bed, he would always gaze up at the sky. In his dreams, he saw stars, and he slept peacefully. The only thing that bothered him were the surrounding joggers. He made it a habit to clean himself up by visiting a tap in the neighborhood park as soon as he woke up each morning. By doing so, he feels rejuvenated. By God’s grace, some helping hands will then assist him in offering his breakfast. Every time he needed something, someone was there to provide it. As he lived in streets he never felt lonely or felt sad thinking about his situation.

One fine day, a social activist who lived in the area had been keeping an eye on him for a while. He then considered helping this destitute man. So he went to a trust and asked for permission to accommodate the man, where they will offer the man a room and take care of his needs. They were also prepared to offer him a job because they were aware of his good practices. The activist approached the poor fellow and explained him about the care center, as well as its facilities and the kind of job it provides. The  man was happy to hear about this. He said “thank you” and prepared to go. That was his final night of sleeping on the streets before he could move. He was seeing the stars, wondering his future, and he felt that he would miss these wonderful experiences—seeing the open sky and sleeping on the streets ,etc.

The following day, the activist brought him to the care center, where he was warmly welcomed. He felt at ease because of the way they dealt with him. Despite being very small, his room was to his liking and featured a lovely bathroom. The only thing lacking were the stars; there wasn’t even a window for him to view the sky. His job was to perform gardening around the premises. He had a coworker to help him with the gardening. He was assisted in learning gardening by the other gardener. Additionally, he began receiving payment for his work. As they got to know one another, they started telling each other stories. Likewise, the elderly gardener once told this poor fellow his stories. He said that the care facility has two rooms allocated for gardeners. The roadside man occupied the second room, while his colleague shared the first. When there was vacancy, the old gardener said, he was about to call his son to do this work. in order to obtain the room in which the poor man was staying and to have the chance to make money. He claimed that his son was out of work and had a family to support. The activist who helped the poor man utilized his influence to get the position for him before he( the coworker ) could approach the management. Without any malice, he told the poor man about this. As it was evening, the elderly gardener went to get his tea. This made the poor man feel guilty and he began to believe that he had taken someone else’s role and that as a consequence, a family was left helpless.

He just packed his belongings and left the care center that very same night while everyone was sleeping, leaving a note for the old gardener. He had written a note stating “I seriously hated my job, the ambiance where I was staying and the room. so, I am leaving “.He thanked him for being there. The note baffled the elderly gardener, who wondered why the man had left when everything seemed to be in place. The poor man relocated back  to the street’s, where he walked into the activist and apologized for not accepting what he had done for him. He told him, “I prefer living in the open streets, rather than  living in a closed chamber”. But this time instead of taking alms, he has got the opportunity to work as a gardener in the nearby park, where he had previously washed himself. He started earning and started to live a better life (which means his pocket had some cents) before going to sleep, but still he slept in the street’s admiring the stars.

Although we would perceive what this man did as stupidity, what he truly did was a sacrifice for an unknown family. A family will have a better life as a result of his actions. How many of them are still existing in this world like this poor guy. These kind of sacrifices sustain humanity in this world. He made this sacrifice in such a way that neither the activist nor the elderly gardener could figure out why. so  that no one conveyed gratitude to him, despite the fact that it was real sacrifice.
